Carrollwood North Tampa Market
The North Tampa Market has something for everyone from fresh produce and baked goods to specialty jams and trail mix. Billed as “fresh, local, and lively,” the market is held at the Carrollwood Cultural Center, located at 4537 Lowell Rd.year-round on the second Saturday of the month when you’ll find at least 70 vendors selling a variety of goods, handcrafted items, collectibles, baked goods, plants, flowers, and more. Fresh Market at Hyde Park
Located in the heart of SoHo, the Fresh Market at Hyde Park Village takes place the first Sunday of the month from 10am to 3pm, year-round. Located in high profile Hyde Park Village, the market features between 50 and 70 vendors with local food, produce, and handcrafts, as well as live musical entertainment.
Tampa Bay Farmers Market
Tampa Bay Farmers Market has called Tampa home since 1977. Located at 1718 West Fletcher Avenue, the market offers a variety of goods from local farmers and vendors. Fresh produce and herbs and spices come from local farms but also from North Carolina, Texas, California, Washington State, as well as countries such as Canada and Peru. This makret also carries an impressive selection of gourmet foods such as Palermo olive oils, pitted olives, roasted peppers, and an assortment of jams, cheeses, pickled veggies, relishes, specialty noodles, and flavorful butters. The market carries a wide variety of potted plants and cut flowers. Tampa Bay Farmer’s Market opens at 8am daily.
Sanwa Farmers Market
A fixture in Tampa since 1982 as a wholesale business for restaurants, the owners of Sanwa Farmers Market expanded their selling base in 2001 to include retail consumers. Located at 2621 E. Hillsborough Ave., the market features vendors inside and outside where there’s a wide selection of seasonal fruit and vegetables, fresh herbs, fresh meat, international and ethnic items, fresh seafood, and canned and dried items. Buyers can expect very competitive prices when compared to grocery stores. It’s a large facility and a great way to spend some time perusing the array of choices. Saturday Morning Market
Take the Gandy or Howard Franklin Bridge across Tampa Bay to St. Petersburg and be prepared to experience one of the top farmers markets in the U.S. that has earned the badge of Certificate of Excellence 2016 from TripAdvisor. Every Saturday from 9am to 2pm, the Saturday Morning Market gets ready for business at the Al Lang Field parking lot in downtown St. Pete. Expect an estimated 170 vendors selling their goods and artisans selling their crafts. Add stellar food choices for dining and live music for entertainment and it’s a perfect day in the Florida sunshine. The Saturday Morning Market runs from early October through late May. Corey Avenue Sunday Market
Another St. Petersburg destination is the Corey Avenue Sunday Market featuring an assortment of locally grown organic and hydroponic vegetables. About 75 vendors share their wares including handcrafted items and gourmet food and snacks. The market operates from October-May from 10am to 2pm.
